Rupaleem Goswami From Guwahati Crowned Mrs Universe

GUWAHATI: Rupaleem Goswami from Guwahati has recently become the new sensation by participating in the biggest pageant named Mrs Universe. She was able to win the crown and the most prestigious title "Mrs Universe Sincere". The pageant Mrs Universe 2018 was held in Cebu, Philippines and almost 90 delegates around the globe participated in the event.

It is to be noted that Rupaleem Goswami was able to make the audience cheer and applaud her unique National Costume and while presenting her costume on stage, she danced Bihu and was applauded by the audience. Her national costume was designed and sponsored by famous Indian designer Yana Ngoba Chakpu and her team from the house of "Yana in Style”. The costume was inspired by the bird Hornbill found in North East of India. The real feathers of the dead birds were collected and used for the costume. The costume also had eleven antique pieces of jewellery weighing about 500gm to 1kg each. And the most interesting fact of the costume was that everything used in the costume were handmade and hand-woven. Starting from the headgear, the top and the long skirt along with the jewelry and back wings, all were handmade and the whole team worked day and night for the costume to look like what it is. It may be said that Rupaleem had won the title Mrs Asia Pacific Universe 2018 and Mrs. India Homemakers International 2018 earlier this year.
