Sadou Asom Goriya-Moriya Deshi Jatiya Parishad Stages Protest Against NRC

GUWAHATI: The Sadou Asom Goriya-Moriya Deshi Jatiya Parishad (SAGMDJP) staged a sit down strike on Tuesday in protest against errors in the final NRC. The parishad sent a memorandum to the Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal demanding inclusion of the names of Goriya-Moriya and other indigenous people in the NRC through a special procedure. The other two demands include an investigation of the erring National Register of Citizens officials and a separate socio-economic survey for the Islamic indigenous people including Goriya-Moriya, Deshi and Joloha.
