Sadou Axom Prathamik Demand For Salary Hike

GUWAHATI: The Sadou Axom Prathamik Aru Uchcha Prathamik Modhyahno Bhujan Randhoni Santha has raised the demand for hike in their remunerations, besides paying remunerations for 12 months in a calendar year instead of ten months. They also demanded regularizations of their posts with the issuance of appoint letters, besides urging the authorities to desist from any conspiracy to remove a few cooks who have been working from the very beginning of the Mid-Day Meal Scheme. Addressing the press at Dispur Press Club on Wednesday, Santha’s working president Jiten Rabha said: “Cooks under this scheme are being paid Rs 3,000 per month in Jharkhand and Bihar. If other States can pay such an amount, why cannot Assam follow suit. We demand Rs 5,000 per month, and if the government cannot pay that amount, it should pay at least Rs 3,000 per month.”
