Samagra Shiksha Axom to organize Early Childhood Care and Education training for teachers
GUWAHATI: Samagra Shiksha Axom (SSA) will be organizing early childhood care and education (ECCE) training for teachers. The Mission Director, SSA, has asked the District Mission Coordinator, SSA, to select the teachers district-wise for the training.
SSA issued certain criteria for the training programme under ECCE, which are as follows: Only those teachers who teach in the pre-primary section of schools and have three or more teachers in the school; the age of the teachers should not exceed more than 50 years. In an exceptional situation where a teacher who is more than 50 years of age has expressed his or her inherent desire to work with pre-primary students, the same may be considered based on reasonable insight. However, the age of the teacher should not exceed 55 years; the teacher should be energetic, be able to develop close rapport with learners, and be committed to the cause of ECCE; only those teachers should be identified who are role models in motivating young learners to develop new skills and help achieve their potential; only those teachers should be identified who do not seek transfer or those who do not intend to relocate out of the school they are teaching for the next 3 years; teachers who are leaders and who can communicate effectively with others; teachers should be tech savvy; they should have in-depth knowledge of ECCE; and should be willing to deliver.
