The whole state remembered the victims of 2008 serial blast, triggered by outlawed organizations ripped through Guwahati, killing several innocent people on Wednesday. Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal attended several programmes organized in memory of the victims of October 30 blast in different parts of the city including CJM court premise and Ganeshguri and paid rich floral tributes.
The CM first visited the shradhanjali programme at CJM Court premises organized by Lawyers’ Association, Guwahati and Kamrup Metropoletan district administration. Thereafter, he visited Ganeshguri and paid floral tributes before the portraits of those killed in the blast and participated in an all faith prayer meeting organized on the occasion.
Sonowal said, “I am paying tribute to all those innocent souls who lost their lives in the serial blast occurred on October 30 in 2008. On this day, each one of should take the oath that irrespective of Brahmaputra and Barak valley, including all those living in hills and plains will fight against terrorism and thus to make terror-free Assam. We’ll have to create a powerful society through unity and brotherhood. So, I urge everyone to sustain a peaceful environment in Assam.”
The other people present in the occasion were Education Minister Siddhartha Bhattacharya, Member of Parliament Queen Oja, Chief Minister’s Legal Advisor SantanuBharali, MLAs Atul Bora, Rituporno Baruah, DGP KuladharSaikia, family members and relatives of the deceased and host of others.
