 GUWAHATI: On the occasion of the 68th Foundation Day of SBI, Vincent M. D., Chief General Manager, State Bank of India (SBI), Guwahati Circle, announced its commitment to sustainable development by initiating a tree plantation drive in Northeast India. As part of this, the SBI would be planting 50,000 trees in the region, emphasizing the bank’s dedication to environmental conservation and creating a greener future for generations to come.

Recognizing the importance of education and equal opportunities for all, SBI has also made significant contributions to enhance the learning environment for children in remote areas. In line with this vision, the bank has donated three digital smart classrooms to three schools situated in Namrup, Maibella, and Amtreng. Displaying a deep commitment to social welfare, SBI has extended its support to the Sacred Heart Palliative Care Centre in Guwahati by donating a fully equipped ambulance. Furthermore, SBI has extended its efforts to uplift underprivileged communities by donating a school bus to the Auxilium Skill Centre in Meghalaya. In the meeting organized at SBI’s Local Head Office, Guwahati Bibhu Bhuyan, MD of APGCL, Guwahati; Suranjana Dutta, outgoing GM; Amaresh Kumar Jha, GM Network-I; Dhruba Charan Bal, GM Network-II; and Madan L.S. Dy. General Manager and CDO were present, stated a press release.
