 Schools told to enter IA marks on portal by Jan 24

GUWAHATI: The Board of Secondary Education, Assam (SEBA) had asked all affiliated schools to enter the internal assessment (IA) marks of their respective students enrolled for the forthcoming High School Leaving Certificate (HSLC) examination on the Board's online portal within January 24.

The SEBA has issued a Notification in this regard, which states that the dates for entry of internal assessment marks "will not be extended further in any circumstance".

It may be mentioned the theory papers of the HSLC examination 2023 will be held from March 3 to March 20, while the practical examinations will be held on February 24 and February 25.

The SEBA had earlier made it mandatory for the affiliated school to enter the marks obtained in the half-yearly examination by their respective students on the Board's online portal, failing which the students concerned will become ineligible to sit for the HSLC examination. However, many schools have failed to do so even till now.

The Notification further states: "Marks against the subject English (C1) will be pre-populated for the candidates who have appeared in the Central Spoken English Test, in online mode. These marks will be in non-editable form in the portal... No request regarding change of marks obtained in Central Spoken English Test will be entertained".

The Notification further mentions: "For those who have appeared offline in the Central Spoken English Test, schools have to enter their marks against the subject English, in the IA Marks portal. Schools have to enter IA marks against each required subject for each student. No offline marks will be accepted".
