Segway scooter introduced in Guwahati Railway Station

GUWAHATI: For the first time, Northeast Frontier Railways (NFR) has introduced self-balancing, zero emission personal transportation vehicle Segway at Guwahati station for better patrolling and quick mobility of Railway Protection Force (RPF) personnel within the station platforms to deal with crimes against women, theft and other such incidents.

Segway scooter has electrical system and design which provide self-balancing stability. As it is an electric vehicle, it does not generate emissions and is therefore environment friendly. The battery-operated Segway scooter can move at a speed of 14 km per hour. It will help quick movement of RPF personnel in crowded platforms whenever they get complaints of theft or harassment of passengers or when passengers are in distress and need help.
