Service books of contractual teachers to be maintained

GUWAHATI: The Mission Director of Samagra Siksha, Assam (SSA), in an order issued on September 15, has asked all District Mission Coordinators of SSA to maintain the service books for Assistant Teachers (Contractual) and State Pool Teachers like regular government assistant teachers.

This move has been hailed by the All Assam Primary TET Qualified Teachers' Association. The president of the association, Troilakya Deka said, "We welcome this move of the government. It will benefit around 40,000 Assistant Teachers (Contractual) and State Pool Teachers. This had been a long-standing demand of the All Assam Primary TET Qualified Teachers' Association wich has finally been fulfilled. We now hope that the government will take steps to fulfil our other demands as well."
