Seven Dacoits Arrested in Connection with Robbery Case

GUWAHATI, Jan 15: TheHatigaon Police on Thursday arrested seven dacoits from different parts of the country in connection with a robbery case that took place at Vishnujyoti Path in Guwahati on December 31.

During the operation, the police team also seized a 7.62 pistol along with Rs 2,56,000 from their possession. The recovered pistol was used in the robbery.

The accused have been identified as Suren Basumtari (21), Biju Basumtari (27), Ram Chandra Nath (21), Ringson Chowdhury (34), Aditya Tiwari (20), Gurdeep Singh (24), and Bikram Sarkar (28).

According to reports, Aditya Tiwari was arrested in Bihar by a group of seven police officers from Hatigaon Police who went to the State in search of him.

Meanwhile, the police arrested Bikram Sarkar from Dhubri and Gurdeep Singh from Basistha. The case has been registered with the Hatigaon PS under case no 800/2020 u/s 395 ipc R/W sec 25 1(a) Arms Act.
