GUWAHATI: The Shirdi Sai Baba temple at Radha Nagar, VIP Road, Guwahati, celebrated its 10th-anniversary celebration on 10th and 11th November 2022. A large number of devotees from Guwahati and other states joined the celebrations.
The Shirdi Sai Charitable and Spiritual Trust have been rendering various types of social services from time to time. It runs a Help Desk at Guwahati Medical College Hospital along with other activities like Blood Donation Camp, helping orphanages and Old Age Homes, and distribution of food and relief material in times of distress and calamity.
The occasion was graced by noted spiritual thinker, writer and philanthropist Dr Chandra Bhanu Satpathy under whose inspiration a large number of a temple dedicated to Shri Shirdi Sai Baba have been established in India and all over the world. The temple of Radha Nagar, VIP Road, Guwahati is one of them. The PranPratistha of the temple was performed by Dr Satpathy on 11th November 2012.
The celebration started at the temple with a spiritual discourse by Dr Satpathy. Thereafter Dr Satpathy inaugurated the Palki Yatra.
On 11th November 2022, a voluntary Blood Donation camp was organized at the temple premises byDr Satpathy. Many devotees voluntarily came forward and donated blood. This programme was followed by a colourful cultural programme at Srimanta Sankaradeva Kalakshetra, Guwahati from 5.30 PM to 8.30 PM. Chief Minister, Assam, Himanta Biswa Sarma graced the occasion as the chief guest and addressed the gathering. He spoke at length about the life and teachings of Shri Shirdi Sai Baba and appreciated the good work done by Shri Shirdi Sai Spiritual and Charitable Trust, Radha Nagar, VIP Road, Guwahati, in the field of social work. He profusely praised the contribution of Dr Chandra Bhanu Satpathy in propagating the message of Shri Shirdi Sai Baba through the Shri Shirdi Sai Global Foundation and more than 250 spiritual centres set up with his inspiration in India and across the globe.
Finally, Dr Chandra Bhanu Satpathy addressed the gathering and delivered a highly inspiring speech. He dwelt at length on the necessity of having a Guru for attaining spiritual progress and also to face the rigours and uncertainties of life. He stressed the importance of living a morally correct and intellectually honest lifestyle to attain peace and prosperity.
Dr Satpathy also ceremonially launched an Assamese video of Shri Guru Bhagawat on both Youtube and Facebook which will be a regular feature every Thursday, a press release said.
