Smooth Traffic During Durga Puja in Guwahati

GUWAHATI: Every year, the festive spirit of the puja is often dither by the crazy traffic jams that make it impossible for one person to enjoy most of the puja pandals that the committees so meticulously decorate. However, the city residents were delighted to be greeted with a change of scene this year as the city streets remained congestion free.

The smooth traffic management by Guwahati Traffic Police was evident as the pandal hoppers complemented the ease of travel. DCP Traffic Prasanta Saikia said that the team efficiently managed to control traffic this season and managed to evade the usual puja traffic madness for which he was showered with a lot of complements.

“With the entire city celebrating and enjoying the festival, the traffic team remained on duty with ardent devotion to their work. Along with controlling the traffic, drunk drivers and people travelling without helmets were also monitored,” said Saikia.
