Smuggled supari seized; 2 held by Guwahati Police

GUWAHATI: A team of the East Guwahati Police Station (EGPD) from the Jorabat Outpost of the Basistha Police Station intercepted a Mahindra DI vehicle, which was coming from Silchar to Guwahati through Meghalaya, at Jorabat on Sunday and seized 17 bags full of smuggled Burmese supari (dried areca nut).

According to police sources, two persons - Rafikul Islam and Arman Hussain -were arrested in this connection and the vehicle (AS28 C 9548) has been seized.
