Some seized drugs found to be diluted in Assam

GUWAHATI: It seems that there is no honour among drug dealers and drug users. It has come to light that by the time various narcotic substances reach Assam from neighbouring States and Myanmar in particular, they are heavily diluted by mixing certain other substances.

According to sources, some samples of drugs seized by the police and other agencies were found to be laced with other substances when tested by forensic experts. The additives include paracetamol powder, caffeine, health drink powders, energy-booster tablets etc.

It is suspected that dealers dilute the narcotic substances in order to increase the volume of drugs for sale.
