GUWAHATI: State Bank of India (SBI) has helped in setting up the '"Ashwini' Cotton University Eye Care Centre at the university campus here by extending its helping hand in procuring different equipment and machinery which are required for the eye care centre. According to a press release, the eye clinic was inaugurated on Tuesday by Arvind Kumar Singh, CGM of SBI, NE Circle and Prof Bhabesh Chandra Goswami, VC of Cotton University at the premises of the Cotton University on Tuesday. With all the modern equipment and machinery available, the clinic will be able to give its best services to all the 5,000 students and 600 staff members of the university. Along with the eye care centre, an ATM booth was also inaugurated at the Manik Chandra Barua Bhavan in the main administrative block of the Cotton University. This is SBI's 2408th ATM in Assam and 377th in Guwahati (Metro).
The inaugural event was also graced by Subhakanta Kanungo, DGM of SBI (AO Guwahati) and Prof Maheshwar Kalita, Registrar In-charge, Cotton University along with other senior staff members of SBI and Cotton University.
