GUWAHATI: The State president of the BJP, Bhabash Kalita, said on Friday that they will celebrate the birthday of Prime Minister Narendra Modi on September 17 with a programme named 'Sewa Poxek' (Service Fortnight).
Kalita told media persons at the party headquarters at Hengerabari here that the programme will start with a blood donation camp in each district of the State on Saturday. Subsequently, a cleanliness drive will be held in all public ponds and other places on September 18 and September 19. On September 20 and September 21, BJP workers will provide service at vaccination centres and health centres of the State, Kalita said.
For the next three days, the workers will organize free health camps in all districts. On September 25 and September 26, the BJP workers will conduct a tree plantation campaign. Exhibitions on the personality and achievements of Narendra Modi will be organized in the next two days. In the next two days, 'Probuddho Sanmilans' will be organized on Modi's vision and policy. On October 1, the BJP workers will organize water conservation drives, Kalita added.
The programme will conclude on October 2, the birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi.
