GUWAHATI: The Sunfest Ex-Servicemen Sangathan, Panjabari, Guwahati celebrated its 5th Foundation Day here recently strictly following COVID-19 protocol.

Besides running a computer institute for financially weaker students, Sunfest Ex-Servicemen Sangathan helps Ex-servicemen and veterans in obtaining newly introduced c-PPO copy, ECHS cards and benefits from the Sainik Welfare Organization. This Sangathan also helps the needy widows of Ex-servicemen in settlement for family pension issues. The Sangathan also provides material help to the poor and needy persons and families as welfare measures from time to time.

The function day function was attended by Y Basanta Meitei, national general secretary and Northeast in charge of Rashtriya Samajik Samarashtra Sangathan as the chief guest and a representative of ECSH Guwahati as the guest of honour, said a press release.

A talk was also delivered on ECHS rules and procedures for obtaining medical treatment by Ex-servicemen ECHS Card Holders Beneficiaries. ln his welcome address, Colonel Bijay Sinha (Retd), Chairman of the Sangathan, spoke about the need for healthcare for the Ex-Servicemen and their families. Colonel Gokul Chandra Singha (Retd) (Advisor), Capt Aswini Kumar Sinha (Retd) (Secretary) and Naib Subedar Nl Laskar (Retd) (president) of the Sangathan were present to make the event a successful one.
