GUWAHATI: The suspension order of two Assam Civil Service (ACS) officers who had been arrested for graft, has been extended for a period of three months. In this regard, the Personnel Department, Government of Assam, issued a notification today.
Bikram Aditya Bora, Deputy Secretary, Bodoland Territorial Region, was placed under suspension w.e.f. 04.12.2021 subsequent to his arrest on 04.12.2021 in connection with Vigilance PS Case No.05/2021. A review committee was constituted to review this case of suspension and after examining all the records of the cases against Bikram Aditya Bora, and considering the seriousness of the charges which involve moral turpitude, corruption and misuse of official power for personal gain, the committee decided that re-instatement at this stage may not be in the interest of public service. Hence, his period of suspension has been extended for three months.
Abul Khair Ilias Noshim Ahmed, Deputy Secretary to the Government of Assam, Transport Department, was placed under suspension w.e.f. 04.12.2021 subsequent to his arrest on 04.12.2021 in connection with Vigilance PS Case No.05/2021. The review committee, in his case also decided that re-instatement at this stage may not be in the interest of public service. His suspension order has also been extended for three months.
