GUWAHATI: BJP declared their participation in the upcoming BTAD polls in 2020 and have already begun preparations. However, the party is yet to decide if the alliance with BPF and AGP will continue.
Gearing up for the elections in the BTAD areas, BJP has developed strategies to win all the 40 seats. In the BTAD, BJP has four district committees in Kokrajhar, Chirang, Udalguri, and Baksa. On August 21, a party presidents meeting was held in the city, where the decision was taken that on August 25, executive meetings of the four district communities will be held, where the State leader will participate as observer in each of them.
A BJP party source said that the membership drive has been extended till September 7 and a directive has been issued that in each 40 seats, 5000 new members should be recruited. Moreover, in the BTAD areas, the political joining programme will continue.
