GUWAHATI: The Sadou Asom Prathamik TET Utirrno Shikshak Samaj staged protests demanding the unconditional regularization of the contractual and state pool teachers with pay security on Wednesday across the state. They staged the protests in front of every Block Elementary Education Office (BEEO).
President of the Samaj Trailokya Deka said, "As per the decision of the central executive meeting, we have undertaken these protests. We have undertaken a 2-hour sit-in protest in the 128 Block Elementary Education Office in 30 districts. And following the protests, from every district we have submitted memoranda to the Chief Minister of Assam through every Block Elementary Education Officer."
"Through the memorandum, we urged the Chief Minister to take the necessary steps in making the posts for the contractual and state pool teachers regularized along with pay security. Even if the government does not take any final decision, then we will be forced to leave the classrooms and take the roads to protests for which the teachers should not be blamed," the Samaj added.
In Guwahati, the 2-hour protest was staged at Guwahati BEEO at Satribari.
The Education Minister, Ranoj Pegu, said that if the posts of the contractual and state pool teachers are regularized then those teachers will be recruited as new appointees and a new salary structure will be applied.
