GUWAHATI: The Eastern Zonal Cultural Centre (EZCC), Kolkata, under the Ministry of Culture, Government of India, in collaboration with the Directorate of Cultural Affairs, Government of Assam and CHHAYA-The Shadow, Nalbari, is organizing a 10-day Theatre Workshop from May 5 to May 4 and a 3-day series of street plays from May 15 to May 17 at Kamrup and Kamrup (Metro) district.
According to a press release, in this connection an inaugural ceremony was held at the Guwahati Artists' Guild at Chandmari on Thursday. Gouri Basu, Director EZCC inaugurated the ceremonial lighting of the lamp at Guwahati Artists Guild Conference Hall, while eminent theatre director Nayan Prasad, EZCC member from the State Jnanendra Borkotoky, president of Guwahati Artists' Guild Aminul Hoque, popular drama artiste, director Himangshu Prasad Das, Officer In-charge NEZCC Shilpgram, V Phesao also graced the occasion and delivered speeches on the occasion as Guests of Honour.
The Theatre Workshop is underway at Pragati Sangha Auditorium, Guwahati and a series of street plays on the subject of COVID-19, 'Beti Bachao, Beti Parhao' and Swacchata will be present at Kamrup and Guwahati (M) district from May 15 to May 17.
