GUWAHATI: In view of the scheduled opening of the new Maligaon flyover for the public, Traffic Police issued a list of restrictions on the movement of vehicles on the route on Wednesday. The following are the details of the restrictions: Public vehicles coming for the meeting will keep their vehicles or buses in the Boripara field and will come to the meeting venue on foot. From 3.30 PM till the function is over, all two-wheeler vehicles and LMVs coming from the Jalukbari side towards Bharalu will be diverted from Boripara Bridge towards Kamakhya Railway Station, Goshala, Rang Bhawan, and then proceed towards Maligaon Gate No. 3 to A.T. Road.
From 3.30 PM until the function is over, all city buses will be diverted from Jalukbari (Bypass 1), Rotary Point, and Haj Bhawan via Tetelia towards Maligaon Gate No. 3 to A.T. Road. All ASTC buses and day super buses will go directly from Jalukbari towards Garchuk-Lokhra-Basistha-Khanapara. There will be no traffic diversion for the vehicles coming from Bharalu towards Jalukbari except for goods-carrying vehicles. Commercial goods-carrying vehicles will not be permitted to ply on A.T. Road and B.G. Road, i.e., Bharalumukh to Jalukbari, on August 30 from 2 PM to 8 PM. All emergency vehicles, including ambulances, fire tenders, etc., will follow the normal traffic route.
