Training programme on ‘Safety and Dignity of Sanitation Workers’ held

GUWAHATI: A training programme on the ‘Safety and Dignity of Sanitation Workers’ was recently organized by SIPRD in collaboration with UNICEF at the SIPRD Kahikuchi Campus, Guwahati.

Around 200 representatives from key departments were trained in four batches and 55 representatives actively participated in the training.

The key departments were the Public Health Engineering Department, Samagra Sikhsha Abhiyan, Department of Women and Child Development, National Health Mission, Assam State Rural Livelihood Mission, Panchayat and Rural Development, Guwahati Municipal Corporation, and Civil Society Organizations. Private cesspool service providers were also part of the training. This training aims to create a pool of master trainers who are equipped to conduct effective training for rural sanitation workers in the state of Assam., stated a press release.
