Two Bodies recovered from a pond in Chandrapur

GUWAHATI: Two bodies were recovered on Monday. A middle-aged man’s body was recovered from a pond in Chandrapur, near Thakurkusi village, on the outskirts of Guwahati. The deceased is identified as Hira Mahatu. As per sources, the reason for his death is unknown. The local police reached the spot and sent the body for a postmortem. Further investigation is on.

Earlier today, a man’s body was recovered near the Assam Science and Technology University (ATSU) after he drowned in a pond near the campus.

The State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) carried out a recovery operation. As per sources, the person went to take a bath, where he drowned on Sunday. He is identified as Samar Deka. His things, which included a phone, shoes, and clothing, were found next to the pond after he failed to return. Later on in SDRF’s recovery operation, the body was recovered on Monday.
