New Containment Zones for next 14 Days in Guwahati: After detection of COVID-19 positive cases in Guwahati under Kamrup (Metropolitan) district of Assam, the two new areas were declared as containment zones.

An order from the deputy commissioner's office said that, "In view of detection of significant number of COVID-19 positive cases at an area of the Tatimara Village under Azara Revenue Circle of Kamrup Metropolitan District, in the interest of the maintenance of public hygiene and to prevent further spread of COVID-19 virus amongst the people in general residing in that area, the area within the notified boundary of the Tatimara Village is hereby declared as containment zone for next 14 days w.e.f today and The Circle Officer, Azara Revenue Circle is directed to seal the area immediately."

The Boundary of the Containment Zone is- North -Residence of Gopal Kumar Nath, South- Bye lane, East- Residence of Phulmoni Das, West- vacant plot.

On the other hand, the entire Luri Village under Sonapur Revenue Circle of Kamrup Metropolitan District has been declared as Containment Zone for next 14 days effective from today. The Boundary of the Containment Zone is- North -Digaru River, South- Luri NC, East- Bhakuagug Village, West- Nartap Village

Earlier, the Kamrup (M) administration declared 3 wards of Guwahati as containment zone as over 400 COVID-19 positive cases have been found in these wards- 16, 8, and 28.
