GUWAHATI: The sleuths of CID (Crime Investigation Department), on Monday, held two women drug peddlers on Tuesday. The sleuths have recovered 11 containers of heroin and two mobile phones from the accused - Rahina Begum and Reena Begum.

A source from the department stated that, "A determined group of drug peddlers started their clandestine activities in few selected areas of Guwahati city. They have been targeting youths digitally. On receipt of inconspicuous input on the first day of the third phase of lockdown, narcotic cell of CID, Assam swung into action and launched a massive operation in the targeted areas."

The source added that the dog squad of CID also helped the team in executing the operation. Further, the source appealed to the people to share their inputs on drug traffickers to save youths from falling into the addiction of drugs.
