GUWAHATI: The Commissionerate of Industries and Commerce, Assam, Udyog Bhawan has been assessed and certified as meeting the requirements of ISO 9001:2015 by international certification agency, Société Générale de Surveillance (SGS). The ISO certificate has been issued for enforcement and implementation of various government schemes to promote industrial development of Assam. A team of auditors from SGS audited the management system of Udyog Bhawan and found the functionality of the office, in terms of EODB, quick file disposal, entrepreneur-friendly ambience, online portal, feedback etc. to be in conformance to international standard of quality management system.
The Commissionerate of Industries and Commerce now holds the distinction to achieve conformance to this latest International Standard ISO 9001:2015, Quality Management System. This certificate is valid till November, 2023.
The Commissionerate of Industries and Commerce collaborated with National Productivity Council (NPC), Regional Directorate Guwahati to achieve the requirements of this international standard. This process involved critical analysis of existing system, internal audits and rigorous cross-checks to ascertain the conformance to International Standard ISO 9001:2015, stated a release.
