Unhygienic conditions in two food centres in Guwahati

GUWAHATI: The Health and Enforcement branches of Guwahati Municipal Corporation (GMC) conducted an inspection drive on Monday at Shaktigarh Road, Bhangagarh.

A total of nine business establishments, including restaurants, bakery factories, were inspected during the drive, out of which hygiene issues were detected in two establishments – Nayak Brothers Sweets & Snacks factory at Shaktigarh Road, Bhangagarh; and Jaya Hotel and Restaurant at Shaktigarh Road, GMCH Complex, Bhangagarh. As per provisions of the GMC Act, both were imposed fine and issued notice. A total penalty of Rs 30,000 was imposed on Monday.
