GUWAHATI: Union Minister Sarbananda Sonowal distributed appointment letters, even as PM Modi joined virtually, at the Rozgar Mela held at Maligaon here on Saturday.

As many as 101 candidates received appointment letters and they were appointed into Railways, Indo Tibetan Border Police (ITBP), Home Affairs, GSI, Ports among others.

Addressing the gathering via video conferencing, the Prime Minister noted that the journey of Rozgar Melas has reached an important milestone, as Rozgar Melas started in October last year providing appointment letters for government jobs to lakhs of youths in various. The Prime Minister congratulated the appointees and their families.

Speaking on the occasion, the Union Minister of Ports, Shipping & Waterways and Ayush, Sarbananda Sonowal said, “With the growing and sustained development in India under the visionary leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi ji, the successful hosting of Rozgar Melas over the months is a true testament of the gainful employment created by the government to sharpen the talent pool of the government sector. As we gather here on a happy note, when you will receive the appointment letters, it must be remembered that we have a great responsibility towards our future generations to build a nation of potentialities, of responsible growth, sustained development so that by 2047, India becomes a completely developed country. As you work in various capacities in different organisations, you must not lose sight of the ultimate goal of Amrit Kaal - another inspiring vision shared by PM modi ji - which is to make India an Atmanirbhar country and a truly developed country by 2047. I thank our honourable Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi ji for setting up some ambitious projects - some may be ahead of the curve - but with considerable sway over the ultimate goal of an Atmanirbhar Bharat by the end of Amrit Kaal. Let us all strive hard, committed to attain this goal set by Modi ji and make India a truly atmanirbhar country.”

Rozgar Mela will be held at 37 locations across the country. The recruitments are taking place across Central Government Departments and State Governments/UTs supporting this initiative. The new recruits, selected from across the country will be joining the Government in various Ministries/Departments including Ministry of Railways, Department of Posts, Ministry of Home Affairs, Department of Revenue, Department of Higher Education, Department of School Education and Literacy and Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, among others.

Rozgar Mela is a step towards fulfillment of the commitment of the Prime Minister to accord the highest priority to employment generation. Rozgar Mela is expected to act as a catalyst in further employment generation and provide meaningful opportunities to the youth for their empowerment and participation in national development.

The newly inducted appointees are also getting an opportunity to train themselves through Karmayogi Prarambh, an online module on iGOT Karmayogi portal, where more than 750 e-learning courses have been made available for ‘anywhere any device’ learning format. Speaking via video conferencing, the Prime Minister underlined that the Rozgar Melas are signs of the government’s commitment towards the future of the youth where work is underway in mission mode.

As re-skilling and up-skilling are the order of the day, the Prime Minister informed that PM Vishwakarma Yojana is linking the god Vishwakarma with modern technology and tools.
