UPPL core committee reviews BTC poll results

GUWAHATI: A core-committee meeting of the UPPL (United People's Party Liberal) was held here on Wednesday to review the party matters after the declaration of the BTC (Bodoland Territorial Council) election results. The committee thanked all party workers from all levels and well-wishers for working day and night relentlessly during the election campaign.

"The hard work of all party members has paid divident to give mandate to the UPPL in forming government in the BTR (Bodoland Territorial Region)," the UPPL stated.

The UPPL said it is looking forward to meet people's expectation and promise to work for peace, harmony and all round development of all communities living in the BTR.

The members welcomed the appointment and swearing-in of party president PramodBoro as the new CEM and Govinda Chandra Basumatary as the Deputy CEM of the BTR.

The party also congratulated the executive members from the BJP (Bharatiya Janata Party) and the GSP (GanaSuraksha Party) who took part in swearing-in ceremony on December 15.

It was also resolved in the party meeting to appoint vice president RwngwraNarzary as working president of the UPPL.

The party discussed about resolution of the party in reference to the UPPL, the BJP, the GSP entering into a coalition to form the Government. The party meeting concluded with declaration of new slogan by the Chief of BTR which goes as Hokolo re logot, Vikaxor Pothot (On the path of development with everyone).
