GUWAHATI: As a part of observance of Vigilance Awareness Week which commenced on Monday, the employees of Guwahati Refinery reiterated their commitment to the best vigilance practices and integrity in the pledge-taking programme at the administrative building premises.
The employees took the integrity pledge in three languages - Assamese, Hindi and English respectively, stated a press release.
Speaking on the occasion, SP Singh, Executive Director & Refinery Head, urged all to make integrity a way of life, while emphasizing on one's responsibility in maintaining integrity at all levels and fields as well. He further urged the employees to continue with their commitment and dedication in prevention of corruption so as to contribute towards a corruption free society and nation.
At the programme, Vigilance Awareness Week messages from Central Vigilance Commission, Chairman and Chief Vigilance Officer, IndianOil were read out by senior officials.
Earlier, Mridul Shyam, General Manager (Vigilance) welcomed the gathering and shared the objective behind the programme. The pledge-taking programme ended with a thought-provoking street play performed by a local theatre group on the perils of corruption.
As part of the observance, a number of competitions including quiz, speech, slogan writing, debate etc., based on the theme have been planned to generate awareness among the employees, their family members, students, trade apprentices, members from CISF, AISF and Home Guards. A Vendors' Meet has also been chalked out. With the motive of generating awareness among the stakeholders outside the refinery, Guwahati Refinery has also planned to conduct drawing, debate and speech competitions in schools and colleges of the city.
