GUWAHATI: The office of the Chief Commissioner and CGST Guwahati Commissionerate, organized a virtual speech competition on the topic 'Drug abuse among youth and its impact on nation' recently as part of the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav programme.

More than 100 participants had registered and out of them, 80 participants were shortlisted and divided into two groups. Mrigakshi Talukdar of Royal Global Institute, Guwahati won the first prize; Kankana Sarma of Assam Engineering Institute, Guwahati won second prize; and Shehnaz Najm Chowdhury of St. Joseph's College, Bengaluru won third prize.

Certificate and prizes to the winners were given by the Chief Commissioner of the North East Zone, S. Kannan on the occasion of Independence Day celebration at CGST Bhavan, Kedar Road in Guwahati.
