Vote Counting for Axom Xahitya Xabha (AXX) Election on December 15

GUWAHATI: “The vote counting for Axom Xahitya Xabha (AXX) 2020-22 election will be held conducted on December 15, after the executive meeting in Hojai” announced AXX election officer Bijan Mahajan on Tuesday.

Addressing a press conference Mahajan said, “The vote box will be closed on December 5. Hence, the vote papers must be sent to the particular post offices within office hour as on December 4. The vote box will be sealed on December 5. After this it’ll be kept in General Post office amidst absolute safety.

Claiming that the vote counting procedure will be fully transparent Mahajan said that no one will be able to put question on its transparency.

However, earlier it was mentioned that the voting procedure will continue till December 10 and then the vote boxes were supposed to be kept under the surveillance of Panbazar Police station. Regarding this Mahajan said, “We had to change the date, because it is already mentioned in the constitution of Xabha, directing to close the voting procedure as on December 4. We have to follow the constitutional framework. Hence the errors were corrected before time frame.”
