GUWAHATI: With the heavy rains that lashed parts of Assam and its neighbouring states over the last few days, the water levels of the Brahmaputra River have seen a rapid increase in the last few days. In Guwahati too, the water levels reached the 48.45 m mark on the morning of Monday. It is important to note that the dander level of water stands at 49.68 m. Officials with the concerned department have expressed the possibility that the level might be breached soon. Meanwhile, the Indian Meteorological Department has issued alerts regarding more rain in the coming days.
