GUWAHATI: State BJP (Bharatiya Janata Party) president Ranjeet Kumar Dass on Friday said with the help of youths they will achieve the target of BJP Mission 100.
State BJP held a joining programme where scores of youths from Anusuchit Jati Satra Santha and Asom Navanirman Sena joined the party at the party headquarters in Hengerabari.
Addressing the new joinees, Dass claimed that the BJP has 18 crore registered members across the country which is highest in the world.
He asserted that the BJP is not a party but a mission. "Most the people who joined today are youths and we will achieve the Mission 100 target with the help of the younger generation," Dass stressed.
On the other hand, State BJP chief spokesperson Rupam Goswami issued a statement welcoming the key decisions taken by the State Council of Ministers on Thursday.
Goswami said the decisions taken by the Council will help Assam on their journey towards development.
"The Council of Ministers decided to take a loan of Rs 116 crore from NABARD to complete the pending work of the Dhansiri irrigation project which was started way back in 1975. It also approved the 'Arunodoy Scheme' under which the State Government would provide financial assistance of Rs 830 per month to the families whose annual income is less than Rs 2 lakh," Goswami added.
State BJP spokesperson Subhash Dutta said that the Congress and AIUDF will not do any harm to the BJP. "Once again the BJP alliance will come to the power in the State," he claimed.
He stressed that the development works and schemes introduced by the Central and the State led BJP governments has made it popular among the people.
"During the time of the 2016 Assam Assembly Elections, the public welfare schemes introduced by the BJP to fulfill its promises made in the vision documents have largely benefited the public," the spokesperson said.
He asserted that in the forthcoming polls, the BJP Mission 100 will be accomplished.
"Based on the results of the party in the 2014 Lok Sabha polls, we had set a target of 84 plus seats in the 2016 elections. We achieved the target and formed the government with 86 seats. Similarly, for 2021 polls we have taken the target of 100 plus seats and definitely we will achieve it," said Dutta.
He added that, "In the 2021 polls of the Congress and AIUDF alliance will get the same devastating results as opposition grand alliance got in the 2019 Lok Sabha Elections."
