WICCI – Hospitality & Tourism Council, Assam Organises Launch Meet in Guwahati

The WICCI – Hospitality & Tourism Council, Assam organised the launch meeting in Guwahati on 24th February 2020. Presided over by Amrita Baruva Sawyan, VP North East Council WICCI, (Director, The Guwahati Address by Centre Point) co-chaired by Indranee Phukan , Regional Advisory NE WICCI, (Consultant, IHCL) the outline and the course ahead was discussed for the Notheast Region and Assam in particular.

Assam being the entry point for the North East India – plays a crucial role in helping boost the growth of tourism and hospitality in the region. Keeping this in mind after an introductory session, members shared their views about the opportunities and challenges faced by the women in the hospitality industry of the region, more so post Covid. To overcome these and help the growth of the sector and the women professionals working in it in Assam–"the way forward" was discussed and an action plan drawn including various activities, learning sessions, best practises which would be rolled out in the upcoming months.
