GUWAHATI: In an unusual incident, a wild boar went on a rampage on the premises of Guwahati Press Club, Directorate of Archaeology and the Assam Textile Institute and injured four persons seriously on Saturday.

The entire incident was captured in the CCTV camera of Guwahati Press Club.

"The boar appeared all of a sudden at around 8:10 am and attacked one Rajen Basfor, a member from GPC's cleaning department," said an employee of GPC.

"He received severe injuries on his leg, hands and stomach," he added.

Apart from Basfor, two employees of the Directorate of Archaeology and another employee of the Assam Institute of Textile were also attacked by the wild boar.

Muklesh Ali, a monument attendant employee of the Directorate of Archaeology, has been shifted to the ICU of GMCH as his condition is very serious.

Karuna Barman, chaukidar of the Directorate of Archaeology, is also in serious condition.

The injured have been admitted to the Gauhati Medical College and Hospital, Mahendra Mohan Choudhury Hospital and Wintrobe Hospital. The wild boar was not caught even an operation to cage the animal was launched till filing of this report.
