Woman drug trafficker held with a cache of Yaba tablets in Guwahati

Based on an intelligence input from Special Branch, a team of EGPD (East Guwahati District Police) tracked a woman drug trafficker, and also seized a huge quantity of narcotic items from her possession.

GUWAHATI: Based on an intelligence input from Special Branch, a team of EGPD (East Guwahati District Police) tracked a woman drug trafficker, and also seized a huge quantity of narcotic items from her possession.

The woman has been identified as Khumi Khawung (45 years). She is the daughter of late Lathangmawia of Vaivakwn Village under Vaivakwn Police Station in Aizawl, Mizoram. She had come from Shillong and was camping at Kunjalata Lodge, Bhangagarh. A search of her hotel room yielded approximately 8500 Yaba (Meth) tablets, from her possession in the presence of independent witnesses.

Legal formalities are underway, as is further questioning of the accused, informed police sources.
