Woman held for copyright infringement from Margherita

GUWAHATI: A woman named Bobita Gogoi was arrested from Margherita on Wednesday in connection with a copyright infringement case and brought to Guwahati today by the Panbazar police. Police sources said that she has been arrested in connection with a case (165/2022) which was registered on the basis of a written complaint by an aggrieved person.

It may be mentioned that a man named Montu Deka was also arrested by the Panbazar police recently on the charge that he committed cyber copyright violation by circulating Assamese books in PDF format via a website named www.digitaltinsukia.in.
