GUWAHATI: The Department of Psychology of Handique Girls' College, in collaboration with Raahein, a non-governmental organization, organized a successful event on the occasion of World Cancer Day. This year's international theme was 'Close the care gap' where the speakers delivered their speeches. It was the very first talk organized under the banner of 'Bishlekhon', an initiative by Raahein to address the social issues in the premier institutes of our State.
The founder and president, Dipraz said, "The main motto of this event was to highlight the importance of psychological support in cancer treatment. We are conducting this type of seminars in premier institutes of our state to target the youths."
The Head of the Department of Psychology, Handique Girls' College said, "For the first time, the Department of Psychology of Handique Girls' College, in collaboration with Raahein, conducted a talk on World Cancer Day on February 4. Students from all 18 departments participated in this talk with full spirit. My key message to all is to sensitize about cancer for early detection, treatment, prevention and giving social support."
