Youth hurt in stabbing incident in Guwahati

GUWAHATI: A youth named Deepak Rai, a resident of Lokhra, was severely injured when a man attacked him with a knife near the Guwahati Club bus stand here on Wednesday.

According to police sources, the youth was walking along the footpath when he was stabbed by a man later identified as one Champion. The attacker has been arrested.

The injured youth first went to a nearby pharmacy for treatment. In the meantime, the police was informed and Deepak Rai was rushed to the Gauhati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH).

According to preliminary reports, the incident took place due to a dispute over drugs.
