GUWAHATI: News of girls from the Northeast being attacked in the national capital are reported every now and then, which makes us wonder how safe are girls from the region in New Delhi?

Another such incident has come to light and this time the victim is a YouTuber from Assam. June Massey was allegedly attacked by an unidentified miscreant in New Delhi on July 17. She alleged apathy on the part of Delhi Police. On Tuesday, her sister Bandita Roy sought help from the Guwahati Police Commissioner.

According to Bandita Roy, her sister June Massey was attacked by a man on a Scooty at Agarwal Chowk in Delhi on July 17. He hit her with his helmet and stabbed his bike key on the side of her neck. Massey went to lodge an FIR at the Mayapuri Police Station but the police allegedly refused to lodge the FIR and kept her waiting in the police station for a long time. They even allegedly passed some derogatory comments on the people of Northeast.

The Guwahati Police Commissioner assured of all possible help and at his intervention, the Mayapuri Police finally lodged Massey's FIR on Tuesday and registered a case.
