Food suppliers asked to submit papers

GUWAHATI, May 15: The Kamrup(M) district administration has appealed to people and groups willing offer hygienic foods and other goods to the devotees  during the Ambubachi Mela slated from June 22 to 26, 2017 to express their interest to be on the job. The willing parties have to submit their papers expressing their interest to be on the job to the district administration by May 31, 2017. Their papers will be opened on June 6. Aspirant suppliers violating any of the conditions set by the administration would not be allowed to get the job.

The conditions set by the district administration are — (i) the district administration is to decide the locations of foodstalls from Bharalumukh-Kamakhya Gate-Maligaon, (ii) the food will be supplied to the devotees only after their examition by food inspectors, (iii) the materials to be used by the suppliers should be of better quality, (iv) all packets and drinks to be supplied to the devotees should bear ISI/BIS marks with proper packaging, to stay away from using excessive mustard oil, spices, chilies, yellow pumkin, curd, etc., (v) hygienic cooking, (vi) cleaning the floors of the kitchens and the dining rooms twice a day, (vii) disposal of garbage so produced by the suppliers themselves, (viii) use of plates, cups etc., that can be dissolved at ease, (ix) non-use of any plastic materials, (x) approved items for the devotees are vegetables and green leaves, potol, squash, lady’s finger, guard, panir and the like.
