PFI urges people to elect secular parties

By our Staff Reporter
GUWAHATI, March 16: The Popular Front of India (PFI) has appealed to the people of Assam, especially the minorities, not to vote for the BJP so as to ensure a government of the secular parties in Assam. In a statement issued to the press today, PFI chairman KM Sahreef said: “In Assam, we find the alliance attempts of BJP gaining success, whereas Congress and AIUDF, which cannot compromise with the BJP, have directed guns against each other. It seems that the possibility BJP gaining seats due to the division of secular and minority votes is not given due attention. Popular Front of India requests all movements of depressed social and minority communities not to allow division of anti-BJP votes in constituencies where BJP alliance has even remote winning chances…”
