GUWAHATI, Dec 4: West Guwahati Deputy Police Commissioner (DCP) has promulgated prohibitory order under 144 CrPC debarring assembly of more than five persons from December 1, 2017 to January 31, 2018. The DCP issued the prohibitory order in the interests of law-and-order in view of NRC update, eviction at Amchang, postering on commul lines, sticking graffiti on walls, castigating people of other religions etc., that are likely to create situation like protest rallies, dhars and some kinds of sit and strike by some political or apolitical organizations.
