Radish (Raphanus sativa), popularly known as 'mooli' is a root vegetable that is light in colour. They differ in shape, some are long and some are round and narrow which varied skin-colour such as red, white, pink, yellow, black, purple.
Native to Southeast Asia, different varieties of this vegetable comes in varied colour and shape. It was mostly consumed by ancient Greeks and was also used for medicinal purposes.
People usually think radish comes only in red colour which is the globe or round reddish but there exist various kinds of it. The white radish also called Japanese or daikon radish resembles carrots the watermelon reddish is pale green with pink inside while the Spanish or black ones are black in color.
Not everyone likes this vegetable because of its smell but it is filled with health advantages. Radish helps in detoxification, cleanse your stomach and liver. Black radish is very advantageous in treating Jaundice and it aids in blood purification.
