New Delhi: In a brave act amid the Russia-Ukraine conflict, a 11-year-old boy from Ukraine had walked around made his journey of 600 miles (1000 km) all alone from his country to Slovakia and reached to safety.
The boy, with no one along with him started to travel from southeastern Ukraine to the border of central European country Slovakia. During his journey, he carried just a plastic bag, his passport, written note and phone number that was written on his hand.
According to reports, the boy's mother stayed back with his grandmother in the Ukrainian city of Zaporizhzhia, the place, where Russian forces in the previous week, attacked a nuclear power plant.
The Slovakian ministry informed that the brave young boy has reached the border area safely and at present, he is with his relatives in the capital city of Slovakia, Bratislava.
The volunteers deployed at the border contacted his families and his loved ones with the help of the telephone number on his hand and a written note.
In a statement by the Slovakian Interior ministry, they praised the little boy for his brave decision, determination, fearlessness and smile on his face after travelling such a long distance to reach to safety.
The Ukrainian refugee boy was regarded as the hero, who managed to reach a safer zone by crossing the war-torn country by himself with a little information along with him.
The Slovakian ministry took to the social media and informed that the volunteers at the border took better care of the young boy by providing him drink and food.
The phone number on his hand and the written note that he carried in his waist proved to be much helpful as with those, he contacted his relatives after reaching the destination.
After getting informed about the boy's arrival, his loved ones arrived later and then the whole story ended says a Facebook post on Monday.
