NEW DELHI: According to the Biden administration, India and the United States "agree very much" that the establishment of a lasting peace in Ukraine is necessary.

Ned Price, a spokesman for the State Department, added that his nation is working closely with its partners and allies, including India, to resolve the Ukrainian conflict and that the international community strongly recognises the need to hold Russia accountable.

"We wholeheartedly concur with India that the establishment of a lasting peace in Ukraine is necessary. The same message was delivered by President (Volodymyr) Zelenskyy himself. He talked to the assembled world leaders at the G-20 and outlined his plan for a just peace. We are quite happy to have this," he told the press.

"We appreciate India's assistance to the Ukrainian people. Indian calls for an immediate end to Russia's brutal war against Ukraine as well as humanitarian aid have been made. In addition, we wholeheartedly concur with the statement made by Prime Minister (Narendra) Modi that the modern era is not one of war. Of course, the G-20 also echoed that statement. That remark was also heard at the UN," he added.

According to Mr. Price, the United States thinks that nations like India, which have relations with both Russia and Ukraine, might be able to help facilitate negotiations and diplomacy that could eventually put an end to this war. In response to a query, Mr. Price stated that the United States is in close contact with all of its allies and partners worldwide over Russia's terrible aggression against Ukraine.

India is included in it, of course. "The international community firmly acknowledges the need to hold Russia accountable for the horrors it has done and that its forces are doing in Ukraine," he said.

"Not just Ukraine has been impacted by Russia's war. As significant as Ukraine is, this struggle, this war that Russia is waging against Ukraine, is actually much more significant. It has had a variety of effects on nations around the world, according to Price.
