Elon Musk Apologises for his Misbehavior With Haraldur Thorleifsson

SAN FRANCISCO: A day after the news of Elon Mask mocking a former employee of the organisation made headlines, the billionaire has apologised to the person for apparently “misunderstanding the situation.”

The owner of Twitter had taken on his former employee Haraldur Thorleifsson, who goes on Twitter with the name Halli, for his disability and the need for accommodation. He mentioned that Haraldur Thorleifsson has a "prominent, active Twitter account and is wealthy" and the "reason he confronted me in public was to get a big payout."

This was not taken well by both the Icelandic entrepreneur as well as a large number of users on the microblogging platform. He took a dig at Elon Musk and mentioned that even though the billionaire is physically fit, he needs his security personnel to accompany him to the toilet in the fear of being attacked. He also explained his physical disability which prevents him to undertake certain actions. He suffers from muscular dystrophy which prevents and uses a wheelchair for moving around.

Elon musk also mentioned that he called on the former employee "to figure out what's real vs what I was told" while apologizing for the things that he mentioned. "I would like to apologize to Halli for my misunderstanding of his situation. It was based on things I was told that were untrue or, in some cases, true, but not meaningful, " Elon Musk tweeted.

"As someone who has worked directly with @iamharaldur during a turnaround, this is super disappointing to see. Not only is his work ethic next level, his talent and humility are world class. Exactly the kind of person you want on your team when the odds are stacked. I feel certain there's a deep misunderstanding somewhere here of "did no actual work", mentioned by a user on Tweeter in support of the former employees.
