First Case Of Florona (Flu + Coronavirus) Detected In Israel: Symptoms, Treatment And More

The Middle Eastern country Israel has recently reported its first case of florona in a woman admitted to a hospital for the birth of her child.

In one of the hospitals located in Petah Tikva city in Central Israel, a woman after child delivery was diagnosed with a rare combination of two diseases caused by the present coronavirus and flu infection.

According to reports, the young woman was found not vaccinated against COVID-19 and the symptoms in her were relatively mild. She is expected to get discharged soon after getting recovered.

Amidst the rise in the new covid variant Omicron across the world along with existing COVID-19, the emergence of the new disease called florona is a matter of concern. Therefore it is crucial that people understand what the disease is all about and what are its symptoms, causes and treatment.

With the fear of rising Omicron, many may wonder about whether florona is a new variant of COVID. It is found that florona is not a mutant variant of coronavirus unlike Alpha, Beta, Delta and Omicron instead it is a case of double respiratory infection that is caused by the mixture of influenza pathogens and COVID-19. The detection of these two viruses at the same time in a human body is called florona.

Symptoms:

• Infection is caused in the respiratory system by both Flu and influenza and results in the same type of symptoms.
• According to WHO (World Health Organization) both the infection may cause at the same time in a person and suffer from symptoms such as fever, cough, throat, fatigue, headache and runny nose.
• Vomiting and diarrhea are also the signs of getting affected by the virus.
• The severity of florona depends from person to person as some may experience very mild symptoms on the other and there could some people with severe signs but if quick treatment is not provided both may turn fatal.
• The symptoms of florana are somehow different from COVID-19 as in the case of flu an individual will not lose the taste which is a common symptom in COVID.
• Symptoms will appear between 2-10 days after a person gets infected with the virus.

Spread:

Florona is a type of disease caused by the upper respiratory system and flu along with covid are transmitted through aerosol particles contaminated with the virus that is released by an infected person at the time of sneezing, speaking and coughing. During the initial days, there is a high risk of getting the disease spread to others.

Treatment:

• The new disease is a combination of both Influenza and coronavirus therefore people must make sure that they maintain the covid norms as, without the covid virus in the body, florona may not be caused.
• To prevent the spread of infection people must be aware and vigilant regarding a healthy lifestyle.
• It is important to wear a mask and protect oneself by maintaining social distancing in public places.
• People must make sure that they avoid colds to protect themselves from flu as according to experts with the drop in temperature the risk of flu has increased.
